Job Description
M.J. Bale is seeking a passionate and performance-focused Store Business Manager to lead our Burwood store. This is an opportunity for an experienced leader who thrives on driving results, developing high-performing teams, and delivering an exceptional customer experience within a premium retail environment.
Burwood is a key location within our network, and we’re looking for someone who can build strong client relationships, elevate team capability, and deliver consistent commercial outcomes.
The Opportunity
As Store Business Manager, you will take full ownership of store performance, people leadership and operational excellence.
Commercial Leadership
Drive sales targets, KPIs and store profitability
Analyse sales performance to identify growth opportunities
Manage wage budgets and roster efficiency
Increase average transaction value (ATV), units per transaction (UPT) and database growth
Execute local clienteling and business development initiatives
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train and develop a high-performing retail team
Lead from the front on the shop floor, demonstrating premium selling techniques
Coach and mentor team members to exceed individual and store targets
Foster a culture of accountability, energy and professionalism
Conduct regular performance and development conversations
Customer Experience Excellence
Deliver a world-class, personalised customer experience
Build strong relationships with VIP and repeat clients
Drive appointment-based styling and custom opportunities
Ensure service standards consistently reflect the M.J. Bale brand
Operational & Visual Standards
Maintain exceptional store presentation in line with brand guidelines
Oversee stock management and inventory control
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Drive operational efficiency and consistency
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Proven experience as a Store Manager or senior retail leader in a premium or high-performing environment
Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage store P&L
Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and achieving KPIs
Exceptional leadership and team development capability
Strong clienteling and relationship-building skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Passionate about menswear, tailoring and premium service
