About the Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and driven Assistant Store Manager (2IC) to join our dynamic retail team at DFO Essendon. This is more than just a retail role — it’s a stepping stone into leadership within a progressive, values-driven brand.
As a 2IC, you’ll work side-by-side with the Store Business Manager to inspire and lead a high-performing team, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and help drive the business forward. You’ll gain hands-on experience across every aspect of retail operations — from coaching and mentoring to sales, styling, and store presentation.
This is the ideal role for someone looking to fast-track their career in retail leadership with clear pathways for progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the Store Business Manager in day-to-day operations and decision making
Leading, coaching, and developing your team to perform at their best
Delivering exceptional customer experiences and expert styling advice
Driving store sales, KPIs, and profitability
Managing stock control, visual merchandising, and rostering
Stepping up as Store Manager when required

Retail leadership or supervisory experience

Strong communication, coaching, and organisational skills
Experience working towards KPIs and targets
Apparel or lifestyle retail experience (preferred, but not essential)
